Abstract
PURPOSE:To immunize the effect of seismic acceleration applied to beds or apparatus by reducing the response acceleration and displacement of the beds or apparatus. CONSTITUTION:Although a quake immunizing device 4 is shocked by the transverse reciprocation of a base 2 caused by an earthquake, the quake immunizing device 4 wavers with a ball 4b placed on a receptacle 4a rolling relative to the bed 3 as the spring constant of a spring 4c is small. The receptacle 4a is inclined with the movement of the ball 4b as the upper surface of the receptacle 4a is sloped, then a friction plate 6 attached to the circumference of the receptacle 4a comes in contact with friction plates 5 attached to the bed 3 to brake the lateral movement of the bed 3. The deflection between the center (A) of the immunizing device 4 and the center (B) of the ball 4b increase with the increase in the magnitude of the seismic force, so that the inclination of the receptacle 4a also increases and the frictional force between the friction plates 5 and 6 is increased to provide a larger braking effect.
