Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a product having a glassy film without causing deterioration in film strength and troubles on environmental pollution by carrying out dealkalization with an aq. soln. of a strong acid salt of Al in a suitable stage after drying in formation of the glassy film by coating alkali silicate.
CONSTITUTION: An aq. alkali silicate soln. is coated onto the surface of a base material and baked to form a glassy film. At this time, in a suitable stage after drying the base material surface is sprayed with or dipped in an aq. soln. of a strong acid salt of Al such as Al sulfate to carry out dealkalization. Since an aq. acid soln. of a conventional method is not used, formation of efflorescence is effectively prevented without causing deterioration in film strength due to dissolution of the glassy substance itself in acid and troubles on environmental pollution, etc. Thus, a product having a transparent glassy film is obtd.
