Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture the composite metallic wire ungenerating cracks during the heat treatment, by applying the wire drawing of specified working rate to the rod covered with Au-Ni alloy containing 2W20% Ni, and after that, by applying the swaging work of specified working rate, and then, by applying the annealing treatment.
CONSTITUTION: The wire drawing work at 50% or more working rate is applied to the material being prepared by covering outer surface of the solid metallic rod of bronze, etc., with one or more layers of Au-Ni alloy containing 2W20% Ni. If the reduction of area due to this dies drawing is less than 50%, the number of repitition of annealing increases uselessly, and the remarkable strain-relief effect does not emerge at next process. Next, thus prepared composite wire is swaged through one to several passes of swaging work to obtain the reduction of area 2W 30%. If the reduction of area is less than this range, the effect of preventing the heat crack is not recognized; besides, if the reduction of area is higher than the range, the effect of preventing the heat crack is reduced, and further, the work becomes difficult because of the work hardening of the material.
