Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the creasing of ink master material and eliminate unnecessary spending of the said material with limitation only to the range of actual consumption by preparing ink master material in the form of thin strap and carrying it intermittently in a direction directly crossing the direction of carrying acceptance sheet. CONSTITUTION:Thin strap-shaped ink master material 12 is laid on thermal head 11 having plural heating elements arranged in one line in Y direction, with ink layer 11 appearing upward. Then ink master material 12 is caused to be carried intermittently in Y direction by means of drive roller 17 and pinch roller 18. In the meantime, acceptance sheet 13 is pressed by rubber roller 14 in such a manner that its ink layer side may adhere to thermal head 11's top, and is caused to be carried in X direction directly crossing the direction of heating elements arranged on thermal head 11 with the assistance of rollers 15, 16. For instance, after recording one line under roller 14 pressure, ink master material 12 which is deviated in X direction, is to be corrected by means of roller 14 and correction roller 19.
