Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain high reliability and good character alignment by a method wherein a hammer is actuated with an electromagnet and a spring at the time of printing and the hammer is returned by a cam to control the flight start position, then the time of flight of the hammer gets stabilized.
CONSTITUTION: Drive pulse 42 is applied to coil 3 by means of timing signal 41, which corresponds to desired character 2; whereby a polarity opposing to permanent magnet 31 is created on ferrite core 4 to cause the repulsion between the both parts. Hammer 7 starts up the flight as shown in condition 43 from point t3 where the control of cam 33 is released as shown in condition 44, and runs into character 2 at the time of flight time T3. Hammer 7, being returned by the collision, is returned again immediately by means of cam 33 and spring 32; hammer 7 being retained by the action of the magnetic circuit including permanent magnet 31, thus to prevent a re-absorption phenomenon. The stability of flight start time t3 contributes greatly to the stability of flight time T3, thus resulting in the remarkable improvement of the character alignment.
