Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the consumed energy to an extremely low level by a method wherein a support structure making a simple harmonic motion is employed as a printing head and the head is driven by an electromagnetic means, thus the timing of a driving pulse is adapted to that of printing.
CONSTITUTION: A flip-flop 72 is actuated by a print start signal (a) and a sending gate signal (c) is inputted in a pulse generation control circuit 67, thereby a sending pulse signal (f) is sent. The regular-interval pulse of the signal (f) is inputted, coils of phases A-C are excited by a pulse motor driving circuit 65. When a printing head 5 gets to one end, a detection signal (b) is generated, a sending gate signal C is stopped and thereby the regular-interval pulse of the signal (f) is also stopped. This signal (f) and the sending pulse signal (d) are made into AND by an AND gate 74 and thus a print timing pulse signal (g) is generated. By this signal (g) a printing head driving circuit 50 is driven and the head 5 is made to conduct printing at regular interval between dots.
