Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect the rate of variation in the frequency of power as an analogue quantity, by providing a varying-frequency power source with a circuit comprising a capacitor, a rectifier and a resistor.
CONSTITUTION: A full-wave rectifier 2 is connected to a varying-frequency power source 1 through a capacitor 3. A resistor 4 is connected between terminals for picking off the DC output of the full-wave rectifier 2. The frequency f of the power source 1, the capacitance C of the capacitor 3 and the resistance R of the resistor 4 are related to one another as R.2πf.C<1. As a result, the frequency f and the DC voltage e1 between both the terminals of the resistor 4 are proportional to each other and the variation in the frequency is detected as an analogue quantity. Such a detecting circuit can be used for compensation of thyristor phase control with an unstable-frequency power source or be used for the like.
