Abstract

PURPOSE: To use only one synchronous detector to simplify the constitution of a demodulation unit by setting the phase of the detecting carrier wave of the synchronous detector near a specific angle of 45°×n (n=1, 3, 5, 7) for the (B-Y) axis.
CONSTITUTION: The chrominance signal supplied to signal input terminal 1 and detecting carrier wave ϕC which is supplied to carrier wave input terminal 2 and has a phase difference of 45° for the (B-Y) axis are inputted to synchronous detector 3. The output signal of detector 3 is supplied to 1H delay line 4, adder 5 and subtractor 6. Delay line 4, adder 5 and subtractor 6 constitute two sets of complementary comb line filters 10. The output signal of adder 5 is supplied to (B-Y) components output terminal 8, and the output signal of subtractor 6 is supplied to (R-Y) components output terminal 9 through polarity inversion circuit 7.
