Abstract
PURPOSE: To polymerize an α-olefin under low pressure, in high efficiency, by the use of a catalyst system comprising an organo-aluminum compound and a solid component obtained by reacting a halide of Ti or V with a reaction product of an organic boron-Mg complex and a siloxane.
CONSTITUTION: Ethylene or ethylene and other olefins are polymerized under low pressure, in the presence of a catalyst obtained by reacting (A) a hydrocarbon-insoluble solid obtained by reacting (A1) a reaction product of (a) a hydrocarbon- soluble organic B-Mg complex of formula I (α and β are ≥1; β/α is 0.5W10; p+q=3α+2β; R1,2 are 1W10C hydrocarbon), and (b) a linear or cyclic siloxane of formula II (R3,4 are H, 1W10C hydrocarbon) with (A2) a Ti or Ba compound having one or more halogen atoms, with (B) an organo-aluminum compound of formula III (R5 is 1W20C hydrocarbon; Z is H, halogen, alkoxy, allyloxy, siloxy; m is 2W3).
