Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the local abrasion on the separating belt by an arrangement wherein the separating belt for aligning the papers is moved intermittently in a certain direction with the aid of its swing motion and the total surface of the separating belt is used for separation of the papers through a simple mechanism.
CONSTITUTION: When a separating magnet 18 is excited and a lever 13 is rotated in the counterclockwise direction against the second spring 17, a separating belt 9 becomes more distant from a feeding drum 7, while a ratchet wheel 12 is rotated in the clockwise direction by a plate spring 19 and the separating belt 9 is moved by a predetermined distance in the opposite direction of removing papers 1. Thus, the papers 1 are drawn out by a feeding belt 5 at first and then fed to the removing direction through the attraction by the feeding drum 7. At this occasion, the separating belt 9 is abrasively contacted with the papers 1 over its wide surface, so the papers 1 are prevented from being damaged. In addition, the total surface of separating belt 9 contacts with the papers 1 gradually so that local abrasion is not caused.
