Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain energy by performing the same cycle as steam turbine by use of a work medium having a low boiling point, while keeping a temperature difference between iced water and atmosphere or sea water through the ulilization of latent heat obtained when ice is molten and water is frozen.
CONSTITUTION: When temperature of the atmosphere or sea water is higher than about 15°C, they serve as fuel and furnish heat to a work medium in an evaporator, where work medium is evaporated into vapor. The vapor is ejected to turbine, thus giving energy thereto, and then discharged to a condenser. The condenser is cooled by iced water so that vapor in the condenser is liquefied. Here, ice is molten by depriving the latent heat and liquefied work medium is sent to evaporator by means of pump. By repeating the above cycle, energy can be obtained. On the other hand, if temperature of the atmosphere is lower than about 15°C, water may serve as fuel.
