Abstract

PURPOSE: To seal perfectly and prevent inside leakage by dividing a rotor body into plural sections in the axial direction, fitting packings to the adjoining parts of the rotor sections facing with each other via packing grooves and forming gaps between the adjoining sections.
CONSTITUTION: A rotor 3 is constructed in such a way that the rotor body 13 of the rotor 3 is divided into three sections in the axial direction and packings 14 are inserted between the rotor sections 13. Both packings 14, 14 are made in shapes fitted detachably into the packing grooves 17 carved on the inside faces of the rotor sections 13. By the sealing action of these packings 14, the intrusion of compressed air into other spaces is prevented, and at the same time, the inside faces of the rotor sections 13 receive the application of the compression force of compressed air outwardly in the axial direction while acting under compressed air and the rotor sections are energized to contact the side walls of a casing 7 face to face. By so doing, high precision sealing can be realized and the operating efficiency of the compressor 1 can be improved.
