Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the magnetic properties, work efficiency and material yield, by putting magnet powder in a cylindrical vessel and rapidly rotating the vessel to shape the powder by the centrifugal force.
CONSTITUTION: Magnet powder is filled in a cylindrical mold 8. This mold is rotated. At the same time, an electrical current is caused to flow through a coil 9 to apply a magnetic field to the powder 1 in the axial direction of the cylindrical mold. As a result, the magnetic anisotropy of the powder 1 is oriented in the axial direction and the powder is collected on the inside surface of the mold 8 by the centrifugal force 7' perpendicular to the direction 6 of the magnetic field and is pressed and solidified by the pressure of the centrifugal force. Since the powder is shaped by the same method as horizontal magnetic field formation, the magnetic performance of the shaped powder is improved. Furthermore, no secondary working is needed and the work efficiency and material yield are raised.
