Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce unstable operation time of a gas sensor after the starting of cooking and enable stable gas detection by a method wherein a heater for heating the gas sensor is caused to generate more heat in the biginning stage of cooking than during normal-level operation.
CONSTITUTION: A heating means 4 and a transformer 5 are connected to an AC power source through a cooking switch 2 and a relay switch 3. On the secondary side of the transformer 5, a diode 7 is connected with a first output terminal 6 to feed a DC voltage to the sensor portion 1a of a gas sensor 1 connected in series with a resistance 8. On the other hand, a sensor heating heater coil 1b is connected to the secondary side of the transformer 5 through a timer switch 9. A timer 10 functions in response to making of the switch 2, counts a predetermined time t1, and then changes over a movable contact from a second output terminal 11 of the transformer 5 to the first output terminal 6. By this, the heater coil 1b is caused to generate heat at a higher output level than usual so that the sensor portion 1a may get in stable operation early.
