Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible smooth ignition by a method wherein a slow ignition current circuit is operated at the time of ignition and a constant current is applied to a proportional valve to make the quantity of gas at a constant value.
CONSTITUTION: A load circuit is provided on the primary side of a power source transformer T and a control circuit is provided on the secondary side thereof. An initial valve 11 and an ignition transformer 23 are turned ON by closing firmly open contacts of relays XP, XF. One of the secondary coils of the power source transformer T is connected to a terminal F of a frame rod 22 through a flame detecting circuit and the flame detecting circuit detects the presence of a flame by using rectifying operation of the flame. Moreover, a terminal G earths a water heater body. The PID control circuit is given an output by a series circuit of a thermistor 18 as a resistance and a hot water detector and a variable resistance VR as a temperature setting unit and supplies an analog output to give a current to a proportional valve 13 through a valve driving circuit. In this manner, the quantity of gas is fixed at the time of ignition and a smooth ignition can be obtained.
