Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain in high yields the title compound having CF3 linked to C not forming an aromatic nucleus, by reacting a halogen-substituted derivative having an activated nucleus-unsubstituted halogen except F with a tetrahalogenomethane and Cu in the presence of a polar solvent.
CONSTITUTION: A halogen-substituted derivative (e.g., alkyl halide, acyl halide, etc. having an activated substituted halogen of Cl, Br, or I linked to C not forming an aromatic nucleus) having an activated nucleus-unsubstituted halogen except F is reacted with a tetrahalogenomethane shown by the formula CF3X(X is Br or I) and metal copper in the presence of a polar solvent (e.g., hexamethyl-phosphoramide, etc.) to give an organic fluorocompound having CF3 linked to C not forming an aromatic nucleus. In the process, preferably CF3 is reacted with copper to prepare a copper complex, unreacted copper is removed, and the complex is reacted with a halogen-substituted derivative at room temperatures to 150°C.
