Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a pigment having excellent color shade, clarity, coloring power, heat resistance, weatherresistance, solvent resistance, color migration resistance, etc., and composed of a central core consisting of an inorganic pigment particle and an outer layer consisting of a specific oxide, etc. colored with an insoluble organic pigment.
CONSTITUTION: For example, two or more kinds of aqueous solution of soluble metal salts (e.g. sodium aluminate) are brought into contact with each other in an aqueous suspension containing inorganic pigment particles (pref. extender pigment, or white pigment) or insoluble organic pigment particles (pref. vat dye pigment), or a solution of one or more soluble metal salts is brought into contact with a solution of acidic or basic precipitating agent (e.g. hydrochloric acid, ammonia, etc.). A hydrous oxide or an insoluble hydroxide of the metal is deposited on the particle of the inorganic pigment by the decomposition reaction of the soluble metal salt, to afford the titled pigment composed of a center core consisting of the inorganic pigment particle and the outer layer consisting of the composite compound of the hydrous metal oxide or the insoluble metal salt colored with said organic pigment.
