Abstract
PURPOSE: To facilitate methane fermentation with high efficiency in a simplified apparatus comprising a plurality of methane fermentation vessels, by carrying genenerated gas to the next vessel in turn, and returning the gas in the final vessel to the first vessel.
CONSTITUTION: An apparatus 1 is divided by partition walls 2 to a plurality of fermentation vessels 3W5. Organic material is charged in the first fermentation vessel 3 and reacted there to generate an effluent 19 and gas. The effluent 19 is carried through conduits 6 to the succeeding vessels 4, 5 to generate methane gas in each vessel by gasification reactions. The generated methane gas is carried through a pipe and a gas diffusing conduit to the succeeding vessel to agitate the solution reserved therein. The gas in the final vessel is returned to the first vessel 3. Consequently, the methane fermentation is done with a high efficiency in a simplified apparatus.
