Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the coordinates of an optional point simply and inexpensively by providing three or more base-point coordinates and by measuring the change in the length of a medium linear element piece caused by transition of the measuring- end side to the respective base-point coordinates. CONSTITUTION:At least three base-point coordinates, e.g. A, B and C, whose positions related to an absolute coordinate system are known respectively are provided. Then, distances l, (m) and (n) between each of these base-point coordinates A, B and C and an optional point P are measured. On the occasion, by using one medium linear element piece, for instance, the starting-end side thereof is made to contact with the point P, while the measuring-end side is brought to the point A, for instance, and the length l of the medium linear element piece is detected with tension thereof. Based on the detected values l, (m) and (n) and the data of the base-point coordinates, X coordinates X, Y coordinates Y and Z coordinates z of the point P in relation to the absolute coordinate system are introduced.
