PURPOSE:To perform the adjustment of the strength of commutating poles for commutation adjustment without disassembling the DC machine and to perform fine adjustment by adjusting the permeability of the commutating-pole core from the outside of the DC machine. CONSTITUTION:A fluid reservoir 26 is formed in the commutating-pole core 5b around which a commutating-pole winding 10b is wound and which is fixed to the inner periphery of a yoke 1. One end of said fluid reservoir 26 is connected to a nonmagnet fluid input and output means 28 via fluid path 27a and the other end is connected to a magnetic fluid input and output means 29 via a fluid path 27b. With the commutating condition being confirmed, the ratio between the supply of the nonmagnetic fluid and that of the magnetic fluid is regulated by an external control means 30. The strength of the commutating pole is adjusted by varying the permeability of the commutating-pole core 5b. In this constitution, the disassembly is not required at the time of adjustment of the commutation and the fine adjustment can be simply conducted.
