Abstract
PURPOSE: To produce a flexible thin strip of a beautiful surface by cooling the thin strip by cooling liquid immediately after rolling thereby forming the same into regular crystal structure.
CONSTITUTION: A base material 5 of sendust, ferrosilicon or other is put in the form of block into a heating vessel 2, and is melted by heating in a heating unit 1 in an Ar gas or other inert gas atmosphere. Next, the pressure of the Ar gas or other inert gas for oxidation prevention is raised to inject the molten material 5' through a nozzle 2a onto rolls 3a, 3b which are revolving at a high speed. It is subjected to quench rolling by these rolls 3a, 3b, whereby it is formed into a thin strip. Immediately after the formation into the thin strip, the thin strip 5" is put in a cooling liquid cell 4 and is cooled by cooling liquid 4a. Hence, the insufficiently cooled thin strip is cooled by the cooling liquid; therefore, the flexible thin strip having fine crystals may be produced.
