Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the heating efficiency of a heating dot and thermal transmission efficiency of a thermal head to a heat sensitive paper and to reduce the electric power consumption thereof by forming a cavity between a heating dot and a substrate and forming the surface of the thermal head of the heating dot unit in raised state. CONSTITUTION:A cavity 9 is provided between a heating dot unit 4 and a ceramic substrate 1 in a thermal head used for a thermal printer or the like of a facsimile in a structure that the heat generated at the dot unit 4 may hardly be dissipated to the substrate 1 so as to improve the heating efficiency thereof. Further, the surface of the thermal head of the heating dot unit 4 is formed in raised state to make close contact with the heat sensitive paper, to improve the thermal transmission efficiency to the head sensitive paper and to largely reduce the electric power consumption thereof.
