Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable an image to be erased by approaching one of latent image potentials to zero, by controlling potential of primary and secondary charging reverse in polarity to each other in a 2 color image reproduction method.
CONSTITUTION: A photoreceptor is subjected to primary charging by application of positive voltage to primary charger 15 from power source 25, under illumination of red light from lamp 23, and the photoreceptor is subjected to secondary charging by application of negative voltage to secondary charger 16 from power source 26. It is exposed on the surface to light image 40 of a 2-color original using a halogen lamp to form a positive latent image corresponding to the red image and a negative latent image corresponding to the black image. The first developing unit 17 develops the latent image red, and the second developing unit 18 develops the latent image black. For example, when the red image is erased and only the black image is reprodued, chargers 15, 16 are controlled, and negative voltage is applied from source 26 to stop unit 17.
