Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve mass production properties without using an index device for positioning segments, by ultrasonically welding the lead portions of an armature coil to the segments fixed on a commutator, simultaneously on the total circumference. CONSTITUTION:The lead portions 3a of an armature coil 3 are ar ranged in prerided bed positions on segment fixed along the circumference of a commutator 4. A core is thereafter secured by a chucking unit 15. An annular tip 14, which isssecured on a horn 12 and has a welding vibration part 14a tapered at an angle of theta, is moved down concentrically with an armature so that the anular tip 14 is located aronud the armature. Pressure Pa is applied to the lead portions 3a of the coil simultatneously as to total the circumference. Ultrasonic vibration Fa is then effected. The lead portions 3a are thrusted by radial component forces due to the pressure Pa and the ultrasonic vibration force Fa. The lead portions 3a and the segments 7 are rubbed by each other due to the ultrasonic vibration in the lognitudinal direction. The lead portions 3a and the segments 7 can thus be welded to each other simultaneously as to the entire circumference of the armature.
