Abstract

PURPOSE:To heighten the reliability of a fixation force in welding, enable connection by an ultrasonic unit of small output and enhance a mass production effect, by coupling coil lead portions to each other, thereafter placing the lead portions semgments and applying an ultrasonic welding method to connect the lead portions to the segments. CONSTITUTION:The lower lead portion 3b of an armature coil 3 are annularly supported on the peripheral surface of an anvil 14 which is located in a prescribed position around a shaft 1 concentrically therewith and secured in the position by outside fixation member. Ultrasonic energy is supplied by a ultrasonic welder 8 to weld d upper and the lower lead portions 3a, 3b of the coil to each other in their solid phase. After that, a commutator 4 is fitted in a prescribed position on the shaft 1 by a thrusting force K applied in the direction of an arrow in the figure. At that time, segments 7 fixed on the peripheral portion of the commutator 4.
