Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a composition having good surface luster, excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance, mechanical strength as well as reduced abrasion against a molding machine, obtained by incorporating fibrous gypsum in a polyester resin based on polyethylene terephthalate in a specified ratio.
CONSTITUTION: By molding a composition prepared by incorporating fibrous gypsum, with a diameter of 10μ or less, based on acicular monocrystals of insoluble anhydrous gypsum to a polyester resin based on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) in an amount of 15W60wt% to a total composition, a molded product with good surface smoothness and excellent physical properties is obtained from inexpensive and easily obtainable materials. A composition obtained by adding 5W30pts.wt. of glass fiber to 100pts.wt. of this composition provides a molded product with good surface smoothness and luster as compared with that of a composition obtained by adding only glass fiber to a polyester based on PET.
