Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled resin composition that is made by adding fiber glass of specific diameter, thus having remarkably increased strength and toughness without increase in the amount of fiber glass added.
CONSTITUTION: A polyarylene sulfide resin (30W95pts.wt., preferably 35W 95pts.wt.) is combined with fiber glass of 5W11.5 micron, preferably 7W11 micron diameter and 0.5W15mm length (70W5pts., preferably 65W10pts.). As a reforcing material, may be added fiber glass or carbon fiber of more than 11.5 micron diameter by 0W300pts. Despite the addition of the same amount of fiber, the strengh and toughness are increased by 20W30% and 15W20% respectively, further the smoothness of the surface of the molded product is improved and the flowing properties does not worsen on the injection molding.
