Abstract
PURPOSE: To easily adhere a molded product firmly to a supporting body and also to improve a working efficiency, by a method wherein a silicone rubber molded product is swelled by bringing it into contact with a chlorinated hydrocarbon solvent, and is then mated with or inserted into a supporting body.
CONSTITUTION: A covering molded product made of an ordinary silicone rubber containing no thermal contractive component is brought into contact with a chlorous hydrocarbon solvent for swelling, and is then matched with or inserted into a supporting object. The silicone rubber molded product is adhered firmly to the supporting object by evaporative-volatilizing the solvent. Dimethyl polysiloxane, methylvinyl polysiloxane or the like can be used as the silicone rubber. Methylene chloride, 1,1,1-trichloroethane, trichloroethylene or the like is available as the chlorous hydrocarbon solvent, and methyl chloride and 1,1,1-trichloroethane are most suitable for said solvent in terms of a high fire retardance and a less toxicity.
