Abstract
PURPOSE: To permit noncontact measurement of inflation pressure by a method wherein on a given position of a type, a reflection member which is transformed or displaced according to the inner pressure thereof is attached in order to detect the condition of an electromagnetic wave or the like reflected thereby.
CONSTITUTION: On a given position of a tyre 1, a reflection member 2 which is transformed or displaced according to pressure is attached in order to measure the inflation pressure from the condition of the wave reflected when an electromagnetic wave or the like is applied thereto. For example, on a tyre 1, a reflecting member 3 whose bending degree varies with the inner pressure thereof is disposed in order to reflect the microwave from a generating source 4, and the reflection direction is detected by means of a microwave detector group 5, amplified an amplifier 6, calculated an arithmetic circuit 7 and displayed on a display device 8. Thereby, noncontact measurement of inflation pressure can be readily performed even during travelling without damaging the characteristics of the tyre itself.
