Abstract

PURPOSE: To shorten checking time and enable the detection of a short circuit or the like, by connecting checked lines sequentially through time weighting means and checking the lines on the basis of the transmission time of a checking signal.
CONSTITUTION: Lines 3 to be checked are connected sequentially through time weighting means 51W55, 61W64. Shift registers, pulse width conversion circuits or pulse number conversion circuits are used as the time weighting means. When the shift registers are used, a one-bit pulse is supplied as a checking signal from a generator 1 and delayed by one bit through each of the shift registers 51W55, 61W 64. A reference signal (e) produced by delaying the checking signal by a prescribed number of bits is compared with the checking signal (d) by a comparator 8 to discriminate between right and wrong. If there is a short circuit halfway in the sequentially connected lines due to wrong wiring or the like, a signal (d') is generated because the checking signal is not passed through a register. Therefore, the wrong wiring or the like can be detected. According to this method, the lines can be checked in a short time and short circuits can be detected.
