Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect the fault of the bus line in the fault detecting system for the bus line using the electronic computer or the like, by transmitting a series of pattern signals to the detecting circuit from the CPU via the bus and then comparing the signal returned to the CPU with the original pattern.
CONSTITUTION: The sub lines 31W38 are provided among the CPU1, the input/output circuit 2 and the detecting circuit 4 each. Then a series of pattern signals are read out successively from the CPU1 and then sent to the circuit 4 via lines 31W38. And the signals sent back again to the CPU1 are compared successively with the original pattern. And when a coincidence is obtained, the bus line is nondefective; while some fault such as the short circuit, the disconnection and othres can be detected in case no coincidence is obtained.
