Abstract

PURPOSE:To exactly operate a light driving semiconductor device by reducing the diameter of an output terminal to the same diameter of a light receptor when making an output terminal of a light signal transmission line abutted with light emitting diodes with the input terminal of the light receptor of a light-driving semiconductor device. CONSTITUTION:A circular light receptor 3 surrounded by a cathode electrode 2 is formed on the surface of a PNPN layer architecture light receiving element 1, and anode electrode 5 is secured through a metallic plate 4 such as W, Mo or the like to the back surface. Then, this element 1 is contained in an enclosure 6 made of a metallic member 9 and a cylindrical insulator 7, a metallic cover 8 is coated thereon, and sealed. A this time the electrode 2 is connected through a lead wire 11a to the external cathode electrode 11 passed through the cover 8, and a clad type light guide 12 making contact with the light receptor 3 is passed through the cover 8 while surrounding with the metallic ring 13 and the insulating member 14 in the arrangement. In this configuration the contacting surface of the guide 12 is reduced in diameter to become the same diameter as that of the light receptor 3 to be smaller than the diameter of the input terminal making contact with the light emitting diode 15.
