Abstract
PURPOSE: To make the dehydration of a hardly dehydratable slurry possible to yield a cake of a low water content, and to improve the operatability, in case of pressing and dehydrating a slurry while irradiating an ultrasonic wave, by giving an oscillation to a filter surface, and by discharging thereby obtained filtrate to outside.
CONSTITUTION: Filter clothes 3-1 and 3-2 for preventing the leak of a slurry A is respectively installed in the bottom end of a horn 2 and in the top of a perforated plate 4, both being contact with the slurry A. The slurry A in a cylinder 1 is pressed by the horn 2 and is irradiated with an ultrasonic wave; as a result of their synergic effect, the slurry A is effectively dehydrated, and the filtrate 13 flows out through a filtrate outlet hole 5 installed at the bottom of the horn 2 and the perforated plate 4. The ultrasonic oscillation to be given to the slurry A is generated by a generator 7 as a high-frequency electric oscillation which is then converted to an ultrasonic oscillation by an oscillator 6; this ultrasonic oscillation is transmitted through the horn 2 as the trasmission medium.
