Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled composition, capable of giving a film having improved resistance to chemicals, boiling water and moisture without requiring a mechanical finely dividing step, e.g. pulverizing or dispersing step, by polymerizing specific two types or reactive monomers in a solution of a spedific synthetic resin.
CONSTITUTION: (A)100W50pts.wt. a reactive monomer, e.g. ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, having two or more α,β-ethylenically unsaturated bonds in one molecule and (B) 0W50pts.wt. a reactive monomer having one α,β-ethylenically unsaturated bond in one molecule are polymerized in (C) a solution of a synthetic resin having a viscosity of 0.5W50 poises, e.g. an alkyd resin solution in an aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent, at a polymerization temperature of (A) to give the objective microgel composition. The total amount of (A) and (B) 1W50pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. the resin in (C).
