Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a uniform zero spangle appearance and to improve the work environment and cooling efficiency by placing static pressure fluid pads on the outlet side and/or the inlet side of an apparatus for spraying a refrigerant on a continuously hot dipped strip. CONSTITUTION:When a fluid fed to each static pressure fluid pad 16 is sprayed on a strip 11 from nozzles 17, the fluid flows in the arrow directions, producing static pressure between the front of the pad 16 and the strip 11. Since a pair of pads are opposite to each other, static pressures are produced on both sides of the strip 11, whereby the strip 11 rising through gas wiping nozzles 15 and a cooling and solidifying apparatus 13 is held stably and prevented from vibrating. As a result, the distance between each refrigerant spraying nozzle 14 and the strip 11 is kept constant, and uniform cooling is accomplished.
