Abstract
PURPOSE:To save a reverse current blocking diode to be connected between a secondary battery in the array of solar cells for the wrist watch by a method wherein at least four or more cells are connected in series and the area per element is prescribed as 0.2cm<2> or less. CONSTITUTION:The secondary battery 4 is connected in parallel to an electronic watch circuit 5, and the battery 4 is charged by the solar cell array 6 through an overcharge proof circuit 3. In this constitution, the cells used for the array 6 is made of GaAlAs/GaAs, at least four or more cells are used to connect in series and the area of individual cell is prescribed as 0.2cm<2> or less per element. By this way, the reverse current blocking diode ordinarily connected in series between the array 6 and the circuit 3 can be made to needless to reduce the necessitated voltage drop as much, enhancing the charging ability at small quantity of light and excluding the wasteful voltage drop in the charging circuit.
