Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve settling time and to decrease the current consumption and heating by providing a resistor between the motor winding of a step motor and a power supply and also providing the second transistor other than motor-drive- control transistors in parallel with said resistor. CONSTITUTION:Pulse dividing paths 3, which receive clock pulses CL sequentially supply driving pulses phi1-phi4 to motor-drive-control transistors Tr1-Tr4, thereby four-phase step windings 1A-1D are sequentially conducted. When a parallel transistor 5 is turned off immediately after the starting of the step by a pulse phi0, a resistor R0 is entered in series with a power supply 2. Therefore, the terminal voltage of the motor winding decreases from V to V', and the settling time TST by indential response is shortened to 1/2-1/3 in comparison with the case the terminal voltage V is applied to the motor winding without the resistor R0. Furthermore, the current consumption during the time of stop and heating of the step-motor windings are decreased.
