Abstract
PURPOSE:To contrive the shortening of the setting time of step response by controlling a winding current before inputting a final step signal or at the same time of input or immediately after input when a step motor is stopped. CONSTITUTION:The motor windings 1A-1D of a four phase step motor are energized by switching transistors Tr1-Tr4 turned on and off by two phase exciting driving signals phi1-phi4 obtained through an inverter and the outputs Q1, Q2 in a pulse distributing circuit 3. With a Tr5 is turned off by a signal phi0 when the motor is stopped, a resistor R0 is connected to a power source 2 in series, so the applied voltage to the motor windings will be reduced to V' from V by the voltage drop across the series resistor R0 contrary to a conventional condition that a voltage which is almost equal to the power source voltage was applied to the motor windings. Therefore, a motor current is controlled and a setting time Tst of step response will be shortened by 1/2-1/3 of conventional time.
