Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled agent for agriculture or epidemic prevention, capable of forming a stable emulsion on mixing with water, easily handleable without causing environmental pollution, and prepared by occluding a liquid mixture of an active constituent which is sparingly soluble or insoluble in water or its solution in an organic solvent and an emulsifier in cork powder.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid mixture of (A) an active constituent which is sparingly soluble or insoluble in water or its solution in an organic solvent with (B) an emulsifier, e.g. a polyoxyalkylene alkyl aryl ether, in an amount enough to emulsify the constituent (A) or its solution in water stably is occluded in (C) cork powder to give a solidified emulsion for agriculture or epidemic prevention. The powder (C) contains the cnstituent (A) in a high concentration because of high absorptivity. Most of the constituent (A) is immediately released from C in the form of a droplet on mixing with water to form a stable emulsified suspension. The slight decomposition of the active constitutent (A) during storage renders the emulsion excellent in environmental pollution control, fire fighting, disaster prevention, health and hygiene.
