Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a Cr-Mo steel which excels in strength and tenacity and is to be hot-worked and does not undergo refining heat treatment and whose welding property does not fall and which comprises prescribed quantities of C, Si, Mn, Cr and Mo as basic constituents, limited quantities of B.sol Al and N and the rest of Fe and unavoidable impurities.
CONSTITUTION: A Cr-Mo steel, which excels in strength and tenacity and is to be hot-worked, is composed of 0.11W1.17% of C, 0.5W0.8% of Si, 0.3W0.65% of Mn, 1.15W1.5% of Cr and 0.45W0.65% of Mo as basic constituents, 0.00015% of B, 0.005W 0.1% of Al (sol), less than 0.004% of N and the rest of Fe and unavoidable impurities. Because of the addition of the B, the welding property of the steel is not deteriorated. Even if annealing for removal of welding residual stress is effected, a necessary strength is assured for a plate made of the steel.
