Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the damage of pin holes on a blank, on a blank feeder of a thermal printer, by a method wherein there are provided a drive roller and a pinch roller for giving friction feed to the blank directly before or after a platen.
CONSTITUTION: When a motor 6 is driven, a blank 1 which is pushed by a pinch roller 8 to a drive roller 7 is feed by friction. At the same time, the drive pin portion 4 of a platen is rotated through sprockets 9, 10 and a chain 11 and fed by pins without giving a large force to pin holes of the blank 1. The printing portion 3 of the platen is separated from the drive pin portion 4 and fixed to the platen shaft rotatively through bearings, etc. Therefore, though rubber on the surface of the platen expands thermally by a thermal head 5 the pin holes of the blank are not damaged.
