Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the overheating of the suction gas and to improve the volumetric efficiency of a compressor by providing a partition plate in the chamber in order to prevent the main stream of the suction gas from flowing in near the outer wall of the compressor portion.
CONSTITUTION: A partition plate 10, which is extended from the periphery of a frame 3 to near the inner wall of a closed chamber 1, is provided to the boundary between the compressor portion and the electric motor portion. Thus, the main stream of the refrigerant gas supplied in the closed chamber 1 from the upper suction port 4 flows down the outer surface of the motor, and the direction of the stream is changed by the partition plate 10. The stream flows along the upper surface of the partition plate 10 toward the inner wall of the chamber 1, flows up the inner wall of the chamber 1, and is sucked into the cylinder through a silencer 5 without contacting with the high-temperature surfaces of a frame 3, a head cover 6 and the like. Consequently, the suction gas is prevented from being heated, and the volumetric efficiency of the compressor is improved.
