Abstract
PURPOSE: To convert a continuously desalting apparatus into of closed type and shorten the retention time of raw liquor by connecting a raw liquor duct to the raw liquor passage of each desalting unit and laying a raw liquor discharge duct at the upper stream side of a raw liquor feed pump installed at the outlet of the passage to form a circulation circuit.
CONSTITUTION: A concentrating soln. from duct 11 is circulated through valves 12d, 18d, 13d and passage 3d of unit 1d, and part of the soln. is fed to passage 3c of unit 1c from branching valve 13d through branched duct 16d and valves 18c, 13c. Part of the circulating soln. is similarly shifted to units 1b, 1a in order. Raw liquor from duct 4 is fed to raw liquor passage 2a of unit 1a through valves 5a, 17a, 6a, and part of the liquor is fed to unit 1b from branching valve 6a while the liquor is circulating through the circulation circuit. Part of the circulating liquor is similarly shifted to units 1c, 1d in order. During this time, in each unit 1aW1d the raw liquor contacts to the soln. through an ion exchange membrane and is desalted by dialysis.
