Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a compact structure with an enhanced moisture separation and pressure loss reduction, a moisture separating equipment by use of steam separating plates and both side separating elements is properly provided with flow adjusting plates, partition plates, and partion walls with balance holes.
CONSTITUTION: Wet steam from a high pressure turbine is controlled in flow by domed type flow adjusting plates 10 and admitted in steam inlet chambers 12. The steam is devided into left and right halves by partition plates 8 and flows in steam distributing plates 7. The steam passes through separating elements 11 enclosed by the distributing plates 7 and flow adjusting elements 6a, 6b, where moisture is removed and steam flow is controlled, allowing the steam to be sent the steam outlet 3 as saturated steam. Meanwhile, a part of steam flows in the direction of shell's 1 axis without passing the steam distributing plates 7. However, partition walls 9 prevent such steam from colliding with the steam from the distributing plates 7, allowing no eddy or staying steam to occur. Should wet steam will not uniformly flow in devided chambers due to some reasons, this is corrected by balance holes on the partition walls 9.
