Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of a compressor for refrigerator by sealing a pump case with a dual seal and thereby collecting leakage from a low pressure chamber in the first stage via an pressure equalizing passage so as to prevent leakage thorougly.
CONSTITUTION: As a rotatable shaft 12 turns, refrigerant is passed via a guide pipe Pa into a compressor. A high pressure is then introduced in a casing 13 when gas is discharged into the casing 13 after compression. Any leakage of gas past of gas past an O-ring 22 at the first stage into a low pressure chamber 26 is then directed and recovered from the chamber 26 into a refrigerant inlet orifice 21 through a pressure equalizing orifice 24a and a pressure equalizing pipe 24b. Another advantage is that a simple use of a mechanical seal 23 can well stop gas leakage thoroughly for pressure difference between the low pressure chamber and outside of the casing 13 is very little.
