Abstract
PURPOSE: A mixture of lecithin and hydroxyropylcellulose (HPC) is spun to produce said HPC fiber suitably used as a medical material such as absorbent for menstrual blood because it is soluble in water and free from change with the passage of time.
CONSTITUTION: Lecithin, preferably natural product, is added to HPC in an amount of 0.01W5pts.wt. per 100 parts of HPC and they are made into fibers.
EFFECT: Lecithin, itself, is nontoxic and added only by less than one tenth that of conventional additive, but the solubility of the product is not affected. Moreover, the tackiness of HPC fiber is eliminated.
USE: It also is used for fabric processing, e.g., when chemical lace is produced.
