Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent inflow of solid particles into a steam turbine by a method wherein a strainer for usual operating time and a strainer for starting time are provided in a steam valve and a plural serieses of steam pipes and steam inflow switching valves are provided before the inlet port of the steam valve.
CONSTITUTION: A strainer 22 for starting time with a fine mesh, is provided in a main steam stop valve 3 and a reheated steam valve 8 other than a strainer 15 for usual operating time and arrests solid particles. A steam inflow switching valve 25 for the starting time and a steam inflow switching valve 26 for the usual operating time are provided at an upper stream side of the steam valve. Upon the starting of the turbine, the switching valve 25 is opened while the switching valve 26 is closed and steam flows into the main steam stop valve from an upper side pipe 7a while the solid particles are arrested in the strainer 22. The arrested solid particles are moved by fluid supplied from a fluid supplying line 23 and is discharged to the outside of the valve through a discharging line 24. Thus, decreasing of an efficiency, due to increases in an area of a steam passing portion for a nozzle or in gaps in the radial direction of packings, and radial fins and the like, can be restricted.
