Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a thin film of high strength inexpensively, by a method wherein linear polyester or styrene polymer is melted and mixed with polycarbonate which is hard to stretch by itself and a film obtained through extrusion of the mixture is stretched either uniaxially or biaxially in the rectangular directions.
CONSTITUTION: Linear polyester and/or styrene polymer are melted and mixed, in 10W50wt%, with polycarbonate and a film obtained through extrusion of the mixture is stretched either in one direction or in two directions at a right angle to each other, thus a stretched film of polycarbonate being prepared. Polycarbonate from bisphenol A and copolymerized polycarbonate of bisphenol A with halogenated bisphenol A are used as polycarbonate, and polyethylene terephthalate, polyethylene isophthalate or the like are used as linear polyester, while (co)polymer of styrene, vinyltoluene or the like are used as styrene polymer.
