Abstract
PURPOSE: A vinyl chloride resin is combined with a copolymer resin mainly containing methyl methacrylate to produce the titled composition restraining the reduction in tensile strength caused by addition of mica or gypsum fibers and increasing the flexural modulus.
CONSTITUTION: (A) 95W75wt% of vinyl chloride resin is incorporated with (B) 5W30wt% of mica of which all can pass through 30 mesh sieve and less than 50% can pass through 325 mesh and/or gypsum fibers of 0.5W1.5μ diameter and 30W 160 aspect ratio and (C) more than 1%, based on the total amount of the major ingredients, preferably less than 10% of a copolymer mainly containing methyl methacrylate. The copolymer is obtained from more than 60% of methyl methacrylate and ethyl acrylate and especially the product through emulsion polymerization is preferred.
