Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent deposits from accumulating to choke an exhaust pressure pipe through which an exhaust pressure runs to be applied to a pressure control valve for controlling an exhaust recirculation system of an internal combustion engine, by providing in the exhaust pressure pipe a check valve which only allows an inflow of atmosphere.
CONSTITUTION: Suction and exhaust pipes of an engine are communicated by an exhaust recirculation passage 2 having a feedback valve 3, for feeding back a part of an exhaust gas into suction air. A negative pressure in the suction pipe is transferred into a negative pressure chamber 33 inside the feedback valve 3 via a pressure control valve 4. The negative pressure to be fed into the negative pressure chamber 33 is placed under the control of an exhaust gas pressure in the recirculation passage 2, which is applied inside a pressure chamber 47 of the control valve 4. A check valve 6 only allowing an inflow of atmosphere through an air cleaner is provided for a pipe, thereby preventing deposits in exhaust gas from securely accumulating inside the pipe 5 by virture of atmosphere.
